Arizona is one of the best places in the world for hiking. There are mountains, canyons, forests, lakes, and the unique Sonoran desert, an incredibly diverse ecological habitat. Most of our hikes have been in the Superstition Wilderness, 160,000 acres of beautiful Sonoran desert located only an hour from Phoenix. We go there often in the winter.
In addition to the Sonoran, over the years we've made numerous trips to Sedona, Grand Canyon, Mogollon Rim, Chiricahua, Cave Creek Canyon, Aravaipa, and other wonderful places in Arizona. Many of these trips were in the pre-digital era, and my photos from that time are slides that haven't been digitized. Hopefully, the photos I've uploaded will give you a good sense of the beauty and variety of Arizona.
Please note that I haven't written narratives about many of our hikes, but hopefully I'll post more information about them before too long. In the meantime, I hope you will enjoy the photos.
