France 2017 – Cote d'Azur
After our hike in Ecrins National Park (see description here), Frederic and I continued our drive along Route de Napoleon through Provence, with stops at the Citadel of Sisteron. Moustiers Sainte Marie, and Tourtour. We also drove through the lavender plateau before Mousteirs, and by the entrance to the Verdon Gorge. In late afternoon we made it to his condo in Theoule Sur Mer, located next to Cannes on the Cote d'Azur. He left me there to enjoy a few relaxing days before I traveled on to Munich and Nurenberg to visit my cousin.

While in Theoule I took a few walks in the Massif de l'Esterel Nature Park just behind his condo and down to the sea at Pointe De L’Anguille. I also took a drive along the coastal road to St. Rafael, with stops in Agay Bay, St Rafael Marina; Pointe du Dramont, and Point de l'Observatoire.

I took advantage of the chance to relax and catch up on some work, so I didn’t explore the famous tourist spots nearby (Cannes & Nice), but I hope to get back sometime so I can see what all the fuss is about. Instead, I was able to experience some nice forest walks, some beautiful sunsets, and the scents and sounds of the Mediterranean coast.

I came away with only a few photos, but they will help me remember both the sights and sounds of my stay. Unlike most of my other galleries, this one is small 😊. I hope you enjoy it.
