I made my seventh trip to Galway in May/June 2017, working again with my colleague Michael Hogan at NUIG. Most evenings I took a long walk, either down to the Galway Bay or along the Corrib River.
I was able to make two day trips outside Galway, one to Connemara and one to the Burren. These are my two favorite places in Ireland, and I've been many times to each. In the Burren, I walked on Black Head, where I had 5 little rain showers during the afternoon, each time followed by beautiful sun and magnificent clouds. I also had a perfect rainbow arching over the cliffs!
In Connemara I traveled along the north side of the Killary Fjord to Silver Strand Beach, walking around Tonakeera Point, fighting a really strong wind coming across the Atlantic. It was quite a contrast to the almost perfect weather I had while visiting this beach in 2015 (you can find those images
here).
I hope you enjoy the photos!
