On this year’s trip we traveled north from Galway (see Ireland 2010 for our trip south through the Burren, Dingle, and Ring of Kerry). Again we spent time in the Connemara, but the majority of our stay was based on Achill Island and in County Donegal. On Achill, we walked from Keem Strand to Achill Head, to the ridge of Slievemore Mountain, to Annach Bay and Lough Nakeeroge, and out to Saddle Head. In Donegal we walked along the Slieve League Cliffs (starting from both ends of the cliffs), in Glenveagh National Park, along Maghera Beach just outside Ardara, the Glencolmcille Circuit, and Horn Head in the far north of the peninsula.
Again, my apologies for the large number of photos in this set. As with the 2010 gallery, I need to make another pass through these photos to pull out a more manageable set to show you. In the meantime, please excuse the duplication in scenes, and hopefully I'll get around to sorting this out before too long.
